My Story

I don't do a ton of shopping, but a lot of the shopping that I do, I do online. I think most people are finding they shop online more and more for the convenience and even the savings. Well, if you shop online and don't go through a cash back rebate site, you're leaving money on the table. One of the most popular sites, and one of the two I use the most, is Big Crumbs.

How do Your Save Money with Big Crumbs?

There are two primary ways to save money with Big Crumbs:

1. The first is with the cash back rebates that Big Crumbs offers. Big Crumbs has hundreds of online stores, including Dell, Target, Walmart, OfficeMax, Office Depot, Borders, Old Navy, Eddie Bauer, and many, many more. When you go to Big Crumbs, and then click through to a store, you'll receive a rebate on your purchase. You can earn rebates from 1% - 25%+, depending on the retailer. And the best part is, once you've clicked through to the store from Big Crumbs, the rest of your shopping experience is exactly the same. (You must visit Big Crumbs first, however, in order to receive the rebate.)

2. The second way to save is through online coupons available at Big Crumbs. This is probably something you are more familiar with as an online shopper. In fact, every day, thousands and thousands of people search for online coupons for the online store at which they are shopping. With Big Crumbs, all of your online coupons and deals are in one place. You can visit Big Crumbs, check out the online coupons to use, and then click through to the store for a rebate. It's double savings!

How Do You Get Your Rebates From Big Crumbs?

There are two ways to get paid from Big Crumbs:

The online coupons and deals you find at Big Crumbs are applied when you click through to the store and place your order. You would enter those in the appropriate fields just as if you had visited the store site directly.

The rebates that you earn from Big Crumbs are put in your Big Crumbs account and paid out one of two ways:

  • Paypal: Big Crumbs makes monthly payments to Paypal accounts. These are on the 15th of each month, and they are from the rebates you earned two months prior. (The skipped month is to allow for returns, etc.)
  • Big Crumbs Prepaid Mastercard: The second option for receiving payments is with a Prepaid Mastercard offered through Big Crumbs.

I personally opt to get paid through Paypal, because sometimes I put my rebates in savings for things like Christmas presents. If you would rather have the convenience of using a prepaid card for things like gas and groceries, however, that is a great option too!

Big Crumbs and eBay

Big Crumbs is very popular with eBay shoppers because it pays them rebates equal to 36% of the seller's fee. All you have to do is remember to go to Big Crumbs first and then click through to eBay from there. And if you're an eBay seller, Big Crumbs will let you list your eBay store for free at the Big Crumbs site.

How to Sign Up with Big Crumbs

Signing up with Big Crumbs is easy. It's free, takes less than a minute and all they need is a couple of pieces of info, like your name and email address. Visit the site, sign up, and then click around to see what it's all about. I think you'll like it as much as I do!

So What's the Catch?

Honestly, there isn't one. If I had to list anything I didn't like about the Big Crumbs site it would be these things:

  • The rebates often have decimal points, like 4.8% or 2.6%. I would prefer they were flat amounts. Picky, I know.
  • The eBay rebate amount can be hard to calculate at 36% of the seller's fee. All that means is that it's sometimes hard for me to know ahead of time what my eBay rebate will be, but I like knowing that I will get a rebate.
  • The number of stores is in the hundreds - and a ton of top stores where I already shop are included - but I always would like more.

But those are much of a downside. The fact is that I have been a Big Crumbs member since 2008 and I have received payments from them over a dozen times. They always arrive just like clockwork.
