Create Residual Income with Mr. Rebates

In the first four months of this year I have earned nearly $500 from an online site called Mr. Rebates. The deposits into my Paypal account have looked like this:

• January: $240.14
• February: $83.85
• March: $62.47
• April: $110.41

About $2.50 of this consisted of rebates on purchases I made myself. The rest were referral commissions I made on others' purchases. All of it, however, was completely residual income (or passive income).

Mr. Rebates is a free online site where you can earn cash back rebates for online shopping. There are over 2000 stores at Mr. Rebates, including really big names like Dell, Target, Best Buy, and eBay. Rebate amounts range from 1% to 30%.

Most people are familiar with earning money with Mr. Rebates in this way but you also can make money with Mr. Rebates by referring others to the site. Mr. Rebates will pay you 20% of the rebate amounts of anyone you refer. This is how it is possible to create a stream of residual income simply by referring others to the Mr. Rebates site.

1. Sign up for Mr. Rebates yourself. Remember, it's free to sign up and, in fact, you will get a $5 bonus just for opening an account (it takes about two minutes).
2. Use the site yourself. You don't have to be a big shopper to refer others to Mr. Rebates (I'm not!) but it does help to have used the site yourself. Familiarize yourself with the site and the retailers and make a purchase or two.
3. Refer others to Mr. Rebates using offline methods. These would include telling friends and family, hanging flyers (the Mr. Rebates site makes one available), handing out business cards, etc.
4. Refer others to Mr. Rebates using online methods. Online methods include sending emails, posting on Facebook or even blogging using a referral link that you can get on the Mr. Rebates site.
